It's a long time since I visited Florence, in the heat of early summer and crowds. But it was memorable. Beautiful pictures here of enticing shops and hotels. 😍
Oh, thank you for this - we were just there a few weeks ago and can attest to the beauty of off-season Florence. Looking forward to a return trip soon.
Reminds me the beauty of Florence. Words and photographs beautiful and then you for shop, cafe and hotel recommendations. Look forward to returning to Florence soon.
I find the Santa Croce area to be one of the best places to stay in Florence. It’s somewhat off the beaten path yet close to all those wonderful places you’ve mentioned in your article. I have to say that the very first photo— of the Arno— is fabulous! Those colors! Thank you for this lovely article. Sending warmest wishes for 2026 from northeastern Pennsylvania—where the snow has been falling and temperatures running at or below freezing for months. ❄️🥶❄️

I love to armchair travel with you! Thanks for posting.

Thank you for taking the time to post from the air!
We were just in Florence in October. The Palazzo we stayed in is on the same street as Aqua Flor. Loved it!
I couldn’t agree more about early morning outings…and the rain…magical!
A lovely, cozy visit to Firenze! La Specola is a big fave of mine, too - especially now that it’s reopened after a little brush-up.
If I could only go back to one city in Europe, it would be Florence.
thank you for the wonderful post. Mi manca Firenze!

Beautiful. . . your words always paint glorious images.
Are you going to Baylor by chance?
I spoke at a fund-raiser for the symphony but DID get to Baylor to see the Browning shrine! Amazing!
