We frequently mention, now back home, how stunned and inspired we were by Luang Prabang. We knew that the whole town is a UNESCO site, but we were unprepared for the simpatico vibe of the place: dozens of temples elaborate and simple, shady lanes lined with market stands, the quiet, the grand trees and flowers in the enticing residential streets, colorful tuk tuks, and most of all the position on the mythic, tragic, historic Mekong River.
