Just looking feels healthy!
At the Thursday market in Camucia, the town just below Cortona, everyone was buying greens. There were gorgeous radishes, radicchio, leeks, and fennel as well, but just look at the cima di rapa (turnip tops), spinach, bietola (chard), broccoli Romano (Roman broccoli—my favorite), cicoria, which my husband adores, and the fantastic artichokes brought up from Sardinia. Prices, as you see, are for a kilogram (2.2 pounds). At other stands, I found the dark dinosaur kale, which makes such a good pesto,
